LGBT & SSA Individuals; Their Parents, Families, and Friends

We don’t claim to have the answers. However, our life experience, in my (Dan) own sexuality and in our family (son), has left us convinced of the gift of walking unfamiliar paths together with God in community.  We long to share this gift with others.  We long to offer to you the safety (agenda free and non-judgmental)  gentleness and kindness that we see in Jesus.

You may be one of our gay or lesbian brothers or sisters, or anywhere along the queer spectrum.  You may wonder if you are.  You may be Same Sex Attracted.  You may be trans or gender dysphoric, or wonder if you are. You might be terrified.   You may be a family member or or close friend of any of these dear ones and wondering how best to love and support.  You may wonder how any of this fits with your faith.  You may wonder if God loves you and accepts you just as you are.

We invite you to join with us and explore where God is meeting you along your unique path.   Who is God inviting you to be in this part of your story?  Where is God in the midst of the uncertainty and accusation?  Any of the questions, hopes, doubts, fears, and joys you experience are welcome as we seek the face of the Father together.

What we can offer:

Your journey is unique to you and God, so the first step is getting to know each other.  Maybe you just need to share your story. Maybe you need companionship and healing from fear and shame.  Maybe you need someone to accompany along your journey with your family or church. Let’s begin with a confidential conversation and see where it leads.  Contact:renee@soulcareseattle.com or dan@soulcareseattle.com (completely free of charge for the first visit and by donation thereafter).

We would love to hear from you!

Our Values:

We honor that LGBT / Same Sex Attracted individuals are made in the image of God.  We honor the unique gifts and insights LGBT / Same Sex Attracted people bring to our families, communities, and our churches. We honor that as parents, families, and friends we will have different hopes, fears, joys, and sorrows.

We honor that LGBTQ+ / SSA followers of Christ can and do hold different understandings in the area of faith and sexuality and that the hardest work for any Christ follower is to grasp the depth of Christ’s love regardless of what we (or others) believe or don’t believe, do or do not do, are or are not.

We rally around the Hope that our loved ones – like ourselves -will know that Jesus loves them in a more real and deeper way than anyone else could possibly love them – the same hope we hold for ourselves.  We pray for our loved ones – gay, straight, SSA – just as we pray for ourselves. We pray that they – like ourselves – would make a return of Jesus’ love in offering all that He may invite them to offer to Him with open hands.  We, ourselves, seek to make a return of that same love.  We affirm that God is God and we are not.
