Lectio Divina Prayer / Listening Prayer Series 2025 – 2026
Fall, Winter, and Spring Cohorts -Dates for 2025-2026 Listed Below Suggested Price: $125.00 for the 9 week series....The cohort model for our Listening Prayer / Lectio Divina series is back for the 2025-2026 year. Together we gathered, snacked, chatted and laughed before quieting ourselves with each other and with the Lord. We did not teach or work our way through discipleship studies. We simply sat in silence, listening deeply to how the HS used scripture to intersect on a personal level a study never could.
You are invited to join us and share in this unique way of building relationship with God, others, and even – self.
Dates & Times: Thursdays, 7:00PM – 8:30PM
- Fall 2025 Cohort: 10/9, 10/16, 10/23, 11/6, 11/13, 11/20, 12/4, 12/11
- Winter 2026 Cohort: 1/8, 1/15, 1/22, 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/26, 2/5
- Spring 2026 Cohort: 3/12, 3/19, 3/26, 4/2, 4/9, 4/16, 4/23, 4/30, 5/7

Maximum Group Size: 12
Format: Each Thursday evening we will gather a few minutes before 7:00 to settle in, grab a cup of tea, before settling in for our time together.
Your leader will remind the group each weeks of the purpose and guidelines for the gathering, ensuring confidentiality, silence, respect, and safety in sharing through the absence of cross talk.
We will also remind ourselves of the purpose of Lectio Divina (Sacred Reading) – to receive the gift of scripture through contemplation as a springboard from which we dive deeper into our personal way of relating with God.
Following these helpful reminders, we will read a short scripture passage, noticing any word or phrase that prompts curiosity, or shimmers, or provokes a response in us.
We will then spread out throughout The Layne with its beautiful art, cozy fireplaces, and inviting furnishings; all designed to lead you deeper into rest and contemplation. Here, we will have 30-40 minutes in silence to contemplate the word or phrase that caught your attention, wondering how this word intersects with your life… as if God wants to talk with you just as a good friend would want to talk.
For the last half hour we will gather back together so that those who would like to, can share what their time was like. This is always a time of tremendous encouragement. There is never any pressure to share!
Afterward, those who wish to stay are welcome to stay until 9:00pm…

**Missed gatherings cannot be reimbursed.
***All gatherings will be held at The Layne. In the event that the facilitator cannot attend, a trained substitute will be selected, or if necessary the meeting will move to ZOOM on that occassion.
